b.) Washing: bucket, wringer and lukewarm water, mop

All Staticworx® ESD Vinyl Tiles require cleaning and maintenance to retain their original appearance. The frequency with which they must be cleaned depends largely on the amount and type of traffic. Maintenance of Staticworx® ESD Vinyl tiles requires sweeping, washing and rinsing.

• Do not use a sweeping compound as these may contain oils.
• Do not use wax or floor finishes, including static-free waxes on conductive or static dissipative vinyl tiles.

All power buffing machines should not exceed 1500 R.P.M. Clean the floor with a neutral floor cleaner only. Do not use an excessive amount of water. Do not use pads or brushes that have been used on waxed floors as these will tend to leave a wax film that reduces the conductivity or dissipative effect of the floor.

Breaking In Your Vinyl Tile Floor
Staticworx® ESD Vinyl tiles have a breaking in period. At first, the factory finish on the tile is so flawless that individual scuff and scratches will appear more visible. As your floor is broken in with normal traffic, its finish will develop to a rich, natural, uniform patina.

In the event that the vinyl tile has been affected with scratch marks they are easily repaired by the following method:

• Use 1500 R.P.M. polisher equipped with a triple zero (000) burnishing pad. The polisher comes in various sizes depending on the size of area to be burnished. For smaller areas use a machine not larger than 18” to 24”.
• Be sure to use soapy solution as a lubricant before attempting to use the polisher as damage to the floor could result.
• Concentrate the polisher to the affected area allowing it to gently burnish the scratches or uneven gauge. Again, be sure to use the soapy solution as a lubricant.
• Once burnishing is completed, follow our recommended maintenance procedures to buff the floor to its desired appearance.

CAUTION: A 1,500 R.P.M. polisher can be used on a periodical basis to remove heavy scratches by burnishing the tile. This type of polisher is not recommended for regular maintenance as damage to the tile can be caused with continued use.

General Maintenance Tips
It is important to note that any cleaning solutions and residue must be thoroughly removed from the surface to ensure that electrical performance is obtained. Note: oil mops, oil sprays or oil containing sweeping compounds are not recommended for use on Staticworx® ESD Vinyl tiles.

Floor Protection:
Floors must be protected against excessive static loads and abrasion when moving machines and etc. The removal of small metal domes from machine legs is always recommended. Plastic casters and glides of adequate size should also be used to protect the floor surface. Be sure to protect using felt paper or reinstalling proper caster. Protective devices should be cleaned periodically to prevent damage when dirt and grit accumulate and are dragged on floors.

Direct Sunlight:
Staticworx® ESD Vinyl tiles constantly exposed to direct sunlight at temperatures over 100° F (38° C) could conceivably result in alteration of dimension, indentation and possible surface color fading. Protect accordingly with drapes or blinds drawn over windows during peak sunlight hours.

Throw Rugs:
some types of throw rugs are backed with latex that may be injurious to resilient floors. Always make certain that the rug supplier can assure that the rugs have a non-staining backing.

Stains:
Certain materials will stain any resilient flooring. These materials include lipstick, solvent type fluid and paste waxes, fresh asphalt paving, rubber matting, rug padding and paint pigmentation used on exterior concrete steps and porches. Dark colored asphalt tile located adjacent to or near vinyl floors may cause tracking of color onto the vinyl. Staticworx® ESD Vinyl tiles must be adequately protected from contact with such materials since many of these stains are difficult or impossible to remove.

WARNING: The extremely high forces exerted by stiletto or high-heeled traffic (dynamic loads of 1,000 PSI or more) may visibly damage resilient flooring. Staticworx® will not accept claims for damage caused by stiletto or highheeled traffic.
