ESD Flooring Options for Raised Access Floors

In networked spaces, people, equipment and furniture are constantly being moved. That means moving access floor panels and flooring tiles. This can be a time consuming, labor intensive process.

With StaticWorx ESD floor tiles, movement within the space is quick, easy and hassle-free.

Raised access flooring provides a structurally sound surface above a large hidden void that houses equipment, cables and sometimes HVAC. In networked spaces, people, equipment and furniture are constantly being moved on the raised floor. That means moving access floor panels and flooring tiles. StaticWorx sells multiple static-free finishes for installation over raised panels. With StaticWorx ESD floor tiles—also known as antistatic floor tiles or static-control floor tiles—any access floor can become a static free zone.

Do you need static control for your access floor? StaticWorx can help.

If you’re looking to purchase ESD floor covering for an access floor, we can help you choose the finish and grounding method that’s right for your application.

First a few questions:

What type of panel system do you have?

What grounding standards are you trying to meet?

Some panels ground ESD flooring on contact. Other panel systems might require special procedures to meet grounding standards. StaticWorx can help you with simple but effective installation processes for field installations.

StaticWorx ESD Flooring Options for Raised Access Floors

ShadowFX Static-dissipative
Carpet Tile

ShadowFX ESD carpet tile prevents static without the use of special ESD footwear. Ideal for data centers, 9-1-1 dispatch, critical call and telecom spaces, FAA and other government facilities. Meets safety standards, which require static-dissipative (not conductive) carpet. Available in more than 50 styles and colors, in soothing colors and patterns inspired by nature.

ESD Rubber
Flooring

Inhibits static without special footwear. Eclipse electrically conductive (EC) Rubber –  our flagship, award-winning line of rubber flooring – is the only static-control flooring material with inherent anti-static properties. This means your rubber floor will inhibit static charge generation without the use of special ESD-control footwear. StaticWorx EC rubber complies with all pertinent ANSI specifications and never requires ESD wax or finishes.

ESD Vinyl
Flooring

100% Made in America. Solid vinyl, color-thru, no shrinkage. Precision-milled, each tile is perfectly square and dimensionally stable, for quick installation with no unsightly gaps between the seams. Tough, durable AmeriWorx ESD vinyl tiles are rated at 2500 PSI and capable of handling heavy loads –  including fork lifts, pallet jacks and heavy machinery.

GroundLock
Interlocking and
Lay-Flat Tiles

Superior ESD protection; GroundLock interlocking ESD tiles can be installed quickly and easily with virtually no downtime. GroundLock interlocking and lay-flat tiles have two layers of fiberglass inside every tile. This prevents contraction and expansion. GroundLock tiles lay flat and never dome up.

Most ESD floors are installed with a conductive adhesive that forms a conductive ground plane under the floor. But in areas requiring access to underfloor wiring or utilities or chemical-free installation, in 24/7 spaces that cannot be shut down, or in spaces that may be repurposed or the flooring redeployed, a glue-free installation may be a better option.

How to Avoid ESD Flooring Failure

Three fundamental mistakes account for a majority of ESD flooring failures: selecting the wrong floor for the application: failure to consider total cost of ownership; failing to test the floor after it’s been installed. Avoiding these mistakes helps ensure success.
