This video explains why it’s crucial to think of ESD flooring and ESD chairs as a system, not standalone products.
GroundLock Interlocking: A Simple Answer to Your ESD Flooring Problems
Static Shorts with StaticWorx: Right from the den
In this short video, Dave Long, President and Founder of StaticWorx, Inc., demos how quick and easy it is to work with GroundLock interlocking ESD tile. Easy to cut to size, easy to install and easy to take with you when it’s time to move on. If you’ve ever dealt with moisture, if you’ve ever dealt with an uneven subfloor or contaminated subfloor, GroundLock interlocking ESD flooring might be your answer. Offering ease of installation and removal, GroundLock Extreme interlocking ESD tiles are ready to be reused, making them perfect for temporary settings and spaces with frequent reconfigurations.
I'm going to introduce you to a solution to many problems in the flooring industry. If you've ever dealt with moisture, if you've ever dealt with an uneven sub floor or contaminated subfloor this might be your answer.
Hi I’m Dave Long from StaticWorx. I’m going to introduce you to a solution to many problems in the flooring industry. If you’ve ever dealt with moisture, if you’ve ever dealt with an uneven sub floor or contaminated subfloor this might be your answer.
Dovetail joint. All I need to do to install this floor… Can you even see the seams? Best part about it, you can do this in a facility while your people are working. You don’t even have to shut down. You can put this in a cleanroom and not have to reorganize the way product flows through the cleanroom because you’re not using an adhesive, you’re not doing any demolition.
People ask us how do you cut a tile? This is called a bullet cutter. Watch this… it’s a perfect edge. All I’ve got to do is measure, slot it at the wall. You won’t be able to see this in our video. There are two layers of fiberglass in this material. That allows this material to never expand or contract which means when it sits on the floor, it’s flat.
GroundLock is a quarter of an inch thick. You can put an SMT machine on it, you can put an oven on it and it won’t deflect. And the best part about it, if you’re in a leased space, you’re in a place where you’re not sure that the floor is going to be an investment that you want to make because you don’t own the building, take it with you.
Back to durability, each tile weighs eight pounds. Where can you use it? We make it in a dissipative version, we make it in a conductive version. You can use it in a comms center, you can use it in a cleanroom, you can use it in an electronics manufacturing facility, you can use it on your loading dock.
If you have more questions about GroundLock go on our website staticworx.com. We have over 40 videos on YouTube. All these videos are educationally oriented about standards, test methods, how to understand what type of floor to choose or just call us. Thank you.

Conductive adhesive is often the most important part of your project instead of what you're usually thinking about, which is the floor.
When choosing flooring, remember: Conductivity means something. Static generation/discharge tests mean something. "Low kV" means nothing.
