Expert Guidance, From Start to Finish

ESD standards differ, so we provide customized support for every application

1. Standards Verification
ESD floor must meet ESD industry standards. As determined by the electrical resistance test, ESD STM 97.1 or ASTM 150. These tests use a resistance meter to test the electrical resistance, or flow of electricity, between two five pound probes, placed three feet apart, one on the material, one on ground.

The second test, called a body voltage test, uses a voltmeter to determine how much static a person will generate walking on the floor.
2. Seamless

A seamless installation may include seam welding as well as flash coving. Flash coving is a process whereby material from the floor is lifted and affixed to the wall. Seam-welding and flash coving prevent the accumulation of dust, dirt and particulate.

3. Contaminant free & Meets Objectives

Third, be sure the floor can fight bacteria and is free of contaminants. Then verify that the flooring material meets all of your secondary and tertiary objectives: ergonomics, noise attenuation, durability, aesthetics, and so on.

4. Try Before You Buy

Fourth, before making a final decision, lay a test patch. Give the floor a month or two, use and abuse it, then see how it looks, how it’s held up, and test its electrical qualities.

Eclipse EC (Electrically Conductive) Rubber

Ergonomically designed rubber meets the cleanliness and Class-0 ESD standards

StaticWorx Eclipse Electrically Conductive (EC) rubber is the industry’s only fault-tolerant, inherently low-charging electrostatic discharge (ESD) floor. Voted a top, money-saving product by Buildings magazine, Eclipse EC rubber won the prestigious Seal of Approval from the ESD Journal as the only product suitable for Class-0 ESD applications. Independent laboratory tests have shown EC rubber to be the only ESD flooring product that inhibits static generation, regardless of footwear – an important attribute in facilities where ESD footwear is not mandated or used.

Eclipse EC rubber is PVC- and halogen-free, and contains no plasticizers. Use to cover an entire room or install strategically as a floor mat, runner or small island.
