Created for Architects and Designers
Your client needs a special floor to protect their mission-critical electronics from damage caused by random electrostatic discharge (ESD). You have a specific vision for the space and want the floor to not only do its job* but coordinate with – or elevate – your other design selections.
Which flooring material do you choose?
First, does the application require the floor to measure in the static-dissipative or the static conductive range? Electrical specifications vary according to industry and application. To ensure safety and optimal performance, ESD flooring (also known as antistatic flooring or static-control flooring) selections should always be based on industry standards. StaticWorx has been an extremely valuable resource for helping to evaluate and specify ESD flooring to our team. On a recently completed project, consisting of 30,000 SF of microelectronics lab, our team worked with StaticWorx to create the perfect ESD flooring solution. StaticWorx is a proven leader in static control flooring solutions—our interactions with their team members, and most importantly, their product performance, is a testament to that fact!

StaticWorx ShadowFX ESD Carpet, a powerhouse ESD-control flooring product, is a beautiful modular carpet tile inspired by the natural world. Manufactured by Interface, Inc. ShadowFX carpet tile comes in 10 styles and over 125 colorways*, making it a favorite among architects, designers and end users alike.
Available in linear and quarter turn, as well as non-directional and monolithic patterns that hide wear and tear and is a cinch to repair or replace should the need arise somewhere down the line. Green Label Plus certified, ShadowFX ESD carpet tile is one of our most sustainable flooring options. Learn more here.
One of our most flexible flooring options, ShadowFX static-dissipative carpet tile is well suited for labs, networked office spaces, call centers, banks, financial institutions, FAA flight towers, opera houses, and many other end user spaces – and is even used in manufacturing facilities like Qorvo, a semi-conductor company based in North Carolina.
Don’t want the ESD area to look different from other areas? Many Staticworx clients install the non-ESD version of the same carpet in areas that don’t require static control.
Size: 24” x 24”, 19.69 cm x 19.69 cm/some styles available in 1’ x 3’ planx.

Labs, universities, manufacturing floors
There’s a reason one floor is the floor of choice for prominent research and university labs. StaticWorx award-winning Eclipse (EC) rubber, our premier resilient flooring material, is as beautiful as it is durable. Ideal for labs, universities, or manufacturing floors, EC rubber is inherently antistatic, allowing it to provide exceptional static protection with or without the use of static-protective footwear. Greenguard-certified, EC rubber is one of our most ecologically sound ESD flooring options.
- Associations, universities, labs, consultants, and clients as diverse as ASHRAE, MIT, Dangelmayer Associates, and the ESD Journal have found that conductive rubber flooring offers the lowest charge generation properties of any type of ESD flooring available today;
- Won ESD Journal Seal of Approval as only material suited for handling Class-0 sensitive devices;
- Provided the best charge suppression in ASRAE funded testing for data center use
- Voted a top money-saving product by Buildings Magazine
Size: 2mm thick, 24” x 24” tiles or 4’ x 40’ rolls.
Eclipse Glue-free (GF) Rubber
Eclipse Glue-free (GF) rubber uses the same high-performance base material as our award-winning EC rubber. A pre-applied, solvent-free, self-adhesive backing makes for quick, easy installation with no messy adhesives. Can be installed 24/7 with no downtime. Ideal for fast-track installations or facilities with high-vapor concrete or that can’t afford to shut down.

Interlocking – click and carry
The ideal solution for problem floors
Labs, cleanrooms, manufacturing, cell towers, sea containers, military and more
Concerned about flooring options in a building with wet concrete or problem subfloors? GroundLock Extreme interlocking tile is the answer. GroundLock tiles can be installed over almost any subfloor, including concrete with vapor or moisture problems. One of the best things about GroundLock is that it’s a click and carry floor. Clients looking for ESD flooring for a leased or temporary space can simply click our interlocking floor tiles into place – with or without the help of a contractor. We’ll even loan the bullet cutter to do it. When they’re done with the space and ready to move on, simply unclick, lift and carry the tiles away.
GroundLock interlocking tile is a perfect solution for labs, cleanrooms, and manufacturing facilities, as well as cell towers, sea containers, military applications and too many other applications to name. Like most StaticWorx flooring products, GroundLock Extreme is a sustainable, high-performing ESD floor.
Size: 6mm thick, 25” x 25” interlocking, 24” x 24” 6mm lay flat tile for field installation on raised panels.

Costs a fraction of other ESD flooring options
As at home on the manufacturing floor as in a warehouse, ESD epoxy does its job without speaking up. Tough, durable and shiny, it costs a fraction the price of some other ESD flooring products. Decidedly un-sexy, limitless color options – like the Emerald Green Amazon chose for their Green Mile manufacturing floor – give our epoxy an unexpectedly interesting appeal.
Find Out MoreIf you’ve only thought of ESD seating as a luxury, think again. ESD floors can only control charges on people when people are standing on them. When you sit in your chair – you’re charging up! The illustration below is from an ASHRAE-sponsored series of tests showing 1000s of volts of static generation on a person working in a standard upholstered chair sitting/standing on a regular non-ESD floor.
In a 2019 joint study by engineers from Intel, Infineon and Warmbier, grounded ESD chairs were found to provide protection against static to levels below .1kV. To put this in perspective, we can generate over 4000 volts on standard chairs.
Our Bolt ESD Chairs not only provide excellent static protection. They also offer the best possible support for the body, with adaptable arms and adjustable permanent-contact backrests for superior comfort. The gorgeous slim-line appearance belies generous seating and easily removable upholstery allows for shift changes between use with each user having his or her own upholstery – providing clean, sterile protection for a healthy, worry-free workplace.
ISO-14001-compliant vertical production and a rigorous environmental management system allow complete oversight from design to shipment, ensuring quality and sustainability.
Available in cadmium orange, neon green, slate gray, and electric blue.
