FAQ: Does an ESD floor do the same thing as a wrist strap?
Wrist straps are highly effective devices. They ground the wearer as do grounded ESD floors. For a wrist strap to work it must be connected to ground. To be grounded, the wearer must be tethered to the same ground connection as the wrist strap, inhibiting movement.
